Love it or hate it, Marmite is a serious British institution – albeit an allegedly controversial one!
The brand caused many a raised eyebrow last year when it unveiled its very own peanut butter (yes, it contains actual Marmite!)
This year they’re spreading yet more controversy by teaming up with a fellow British institution, M&S.
The much-loved food halls in M&S stores will be stocking a new range of hybrid products, specially developed by Marmite and M&S chefs.
Will they finally settle the debate over whether people are ‘lovers’ or ‘haters’? We doubt it!
M&S is exclusively stocking both Marmite Cream Cheese (£2.50 / 140g) and Marmite Creamy Butter (£3 / 100g) and they’re available to purchase right now in more than 400 M&S stores.
Also being added to the range is a Marmite Cheese Twist from the bakery team – coming soon.
April Preston, M&S director of product development, said: “Partnering with an iconic and loved brand like Marmite is the stuff dreams are made of.
“When the opportunity arose to collaborate with them on these new and innovative products, we knew the end result was going to be delicious.
“I am personally a huge lover of the Marmite Creamy Butter, it’s brilliant stirred through vegetables like broccoli and mixed into pasta dishes for the family.
“I can’t wait to see what customers make of the range!”
Sophie Allan, Marmite brand manager added: “In 2019, we saw a huge volume of requests for a Marmite Cream Cheese.
“It made perfect sense to team up with M&S and create this exclusive range with them. We think they are ideal for first time Marmite eaters and, of course, our lovers too.”

The cream cheese is billed as the perfect combination of cool and light cream cheese mixed with that unmistakeable Marmite spread.
The perfect pairing for a morning bagel, bowl of pasta or dolloped in top of a hot steaming bowl of tomato soup.

Anything you might want to spread butter onto – this is your answer.
Sear your steak with it for the perfect salty sweet caramelisation, toss your roasties in it for a flawless crunchy coating or just make that jacket potato the best its ever been.

In addition to the new spreads, the first ever Marmite product to be available in M&S bakeries… Marmite Cheese Twists (£1 / each)
It’s described as a ‘melt-in-the-mouth’ savoury twist, combining classic Marmite with tangy cheddar and buttery crisp pastry. It’s coming to stores soon.
