The New World Trading Company (the firm behind The Botanist in Chester, Knutsford and Alderley Edge; as well as The Club House and The Smugglers Cove in Liverpool) is bringing The Florist to Chester.
The Florist has been announced as the latest restaurant to be taking up residence in the forthcoming Chester Northgate development when it opens in 2022.
NWTC, The Florist’s award-winning operator, has built up an impressive portfolio of 29 restaurants incorporating The Botanist, The Club House and The Oast House brands.
Inspired – as you may’ve guessed – by the art of floristry, the new venue will deliver a unique sensory experience.
It will feature an abundance of flowers, vibrant food, fragrant cocktails and live music.
The Florist will join Tapas Revolution, Cosy Club and Picturehouse Cinema – already announced as key lettings in the city centre development.
It will occupy 8,600 sq ft over two floors, fronting Northgate Street and the new public square at the heart of the Northgate development.
Due to open in spring 2022, construction commenced in July.
Leader of Cheshire West and Chester Council, Cllr Louise Gittins said: “We are delighted to welcome The Florist into the Northgate scheme.
“This vote of confidence in our vision for Northgate is especially pleasing in view of the ongoing challenges now facing the hospitality sector.”
Tim McCormac, property director at NWTC, commented: “We have been watching the plans for the redevelopment of Chester Northgate for some time.
“We believe that this is the ideal opportunity for us to grow our business in such a vibrant and unique destination.
“The Northgate scheme with its distinctive historic and cultural heritage aligns perfectly with our wider brand vision making it the ideal next home for us.
“We can’t wait to be a part of Chester’s exciting future.”
