Swansway celebrates apprenticeship graduation ceremony

Swansway Motor Group bosses decided recent that it was high time they formally recognised how important graduating apprentices are to the business.

To this end, they organised a special graduation ceremony for the graduates to look back on whilst showing new recruits what three years of hard work could achieve.

Swansway Group director, Peter Smyth explained: “We hope that by combining our apprentice graduation with the new intake’s induction day, we’ve really inspired our new apprentices by letting them see just how far hard work and commitment can get you.”

Peter continued: “As a family-owned business we’ve always been really keen on apprenticeships, indeed in our previous business we were heavily involved with the now forgotten YOP and YTS schemes (Youth Opportunities Programme and Youth Training Scheme).

“There is no doubt that learning a skill when you’re young gives you something for life and we’re extremely proud of our graduating class of 2018.”

The Swansway graduates were given a certificate and award, as well as a goody bag, by group chairman Michael Smyth.

Those who graduated included technicians from across the group – Jordan Edwards, Wrexham Volkswagen; Lewis Allen, Wrexham VW Van Centre; Maxim Roberts, Crewe Audi and Daniel Bradley, at Liverpool VW Van Centre.

Watching them receive their awards was the latest intake of apprentices, who were later given a Swansway induction from the whole Smyth family, including a full tour of the group’s head office facility thrown in for good measure.

Swansway operates sites from Birmingham in the South to Carlisle in the North, with a full range of apprenticeships on offer.
