Emergency services in Cheshire have been helping people evacuate their homes this afternoon due to flooding in some areas.
Kinnerton Road in Lower Kinnerton, near Chester, was closed at about 5.30pm in both directions, according to Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, who said teams were checking on residents in affected streets.
At 6.30pm, a full search of the area was carried out by a Cheshire Police drone.
There were no reported casualties, the fire service said.
Meanwhile, firefighters in wading gear rescued two people from a car trapped in flood water in Farndon.
Stretton Mill Lane in Farndon has been closed at both ends.
Cheshire West and Chester Council reported the following road closures:
• Station Lane, Mickle Trafford between School Lane and St Peters Way
• Main Road, Lower Kinnerton at the Flintshire boundary
• Oldcastle Lane, Malpas – between B5069 and Sunnyside
• Hermitage Road
• Little Stanney Lane (A5117 to Wervin Road)
In addition, there are three-way traffic lights on the A49 (Alvanley Arms) but the road remains open, the council said.
