Paint Macc Pink is returning this April, with a special launch event at the Treacle Market on Sunday 26th March.
The month-long Paint Macc Pink event aims to raise awareness and funds to tackle breast cancer and is run in aid of the Manchester-based charity Prevent Breast Cancer.
Macclesfield-based Heather Glover, a Prevent Breast Cancer ambassador, is resurrecting Paint Macc Pink this year with a team of volunteers.
She met recently with MP David Rutley to enrol his support, and hopes to make this year’s event bigger and better than ever.
The colourful campaign will run throughout April and will include the Big Pink Weekend (21st-23rd April) plus a dedicated Pink Treacle Market (30th April).
Anyone who wants to get involved is being encouraged to hold an event or fundraiser under the Paint Macc Pink umbrella.
The team is also asking schools, local businesses and the community to take part too.
Whether it’s organising a wear pink day at work, or baking pink cakes for a coffee morning, or even donating prizes to raffles/tombolas – any activities will help Paint Macc Pink.
During The Big Pink Weekend itself, local bars and pubs are being invited to hold fundraising events to get as many people involved as possible.
More information on how to get involved can be found via the following website www.paintmaccpink.org.uk or by emailing info@paintmaccpink.co.uk.
Mr Rutley said: “The Paint Macc Pink team deserve all the support they can get with their exciting plans, which are even bigger and better this year.
“Most of us know someone who has been affected by breast cancer. This is a great opportunity to support Prevent Breast Cancer in a very effective and memorable way.
“I wish them every success.”
