Here are some of the best we spotted this year…
Belton Farm had us convinced that we could have the divine scent of their fabulous cheeses wafting through the living room, with a brand new range of scented candles and home fragrance oils.
One of their favourite suggestions (and ours) is the Smoked Red Fox. Or, how about the whiff of a creamy Cheshire cheese? No? Ah well.
CH1 Chester BID
CH1 Chester BID would have us believe they’re setting up a selfie booth inside the Eastgate Clock.
The organisation behind the city’s business improvement district was hoping to capitalise on the fact that Big Ben is presently shrouded in scaffolding to secure the title of “World’s Most Photographed Clock” for Chester’s famous landmark.
(It’s a well-established fact that the Eastgate Clock is the second most photographed clock in the world, pipped to the top spot only by London’s iconic monument.)
Cholmondeley Castle Gardens
Next we have the cheeky green-fingered gang of horticulturists at Cholmondeley Castle Gardens who got us all excited for nothing over their ambition to sow a very sweet crop indeed.
They were showing off what could’ve been the world’s largest harvest of home-grown doughnuts. Sadly it wasn’t meant to be… we discovered a rather large hole at the centre of their elaborate plot!
And finally the most active people in Cheshire, the bears and their cubs at Running Bear in Alderley Edge wanted us all sprinting faster than ever.
Perhaps taking inspiration from the world of motor racing, they were marketing a range of carbon-plated socks that pushed the boundaries of modern sock tech (and there’s a phrase you never thought you’d be reading on the So Cheshire website!)
