The organisers of Jodrell Bank’s Bluedot festival have sought to keep festival-goers up to date on their plans for this year’s event, with a statement issued last week on social media.
In it, they say: “We’d like to update you on our plans for Bluedot 2021, both in terms of what you can expect in the coming weeks and months, and our return this July.”
The statement continues: “As you would expect, we are closely monitoring the Covid-19 situation, and its implications on staging events such as ours.
“While festivals have a unique set of challenges in how we plan and prepare, the smaller likes of Bluedot don’t make our on-site preparations until much closer to the summer.
“With this in mind, we will be taking some time until the current situation eases and we feel more confident that we can bring you a safe, secure and enjoyable weekend.”
It means the line-up won’t be announced until later in the year. Although headliners Bkörk, Groove Armada and Metronome are unstop to be confirmed still.
Festival organisers thanks fans for their support, in particular those who retained their tickets form last year’s cancelled event.
They also reassured those hoping to attend this year that the ticket policy remains the same – if the event can’t go ahead, tickets will automatically be rolled over to next year or refunded.
The statement closes: “For now, stay safe, look after one another and we look forward to seeing you beneath the Lovell Telescope soon.”
