Radio presenter Mike James has died at the age of 62.
It’s understood he died at the Dee 106.3 studios at Chantry Court in Chester shortly after presenting his show on Saturday afternoon.
The Chester Chronicle reports: “He was discovered by a colleague shortly after 6pm.
“An ambulance arrived at around 6.13pm and officers from Cheshire Police said they were called at around 6.55pm following reports of a sudden death.”
Cheshire Police told the paper: “Officers attended the scene and found that a 62-year-old man had died.
“The man is believed to have suffered from a medical episode and his death is not believed to be suspicious, a case file will now be prepared for the coroner.”
James presented the Saturday sports show on Chester’s local radio station Dee 106.3 and has been with the station for over 15 years.
A spokesperson for Dee 106.3 said: “We are deeply saddened to hear this tragic news.
“Mike was an outstanding broadcaster and a good friend to everyone here at Chester’s Dee Radio, as well as a popular presenter amongst our listeners.
“Our thoughts are with his family at this very sad time.”
