Northwich Library will finally be opening in a new temporary location after months of delay.
From Monday 30th January, the library will be temporarily relocated to the Weaver Hall Museum while the building on Witton Street is being renovated.
The new temporary library will feature a curated collection of the latest fiction and non-fiction titles for adults and children, along with internet access via public computers and free wi-fi, plus a range of events, activities and groups.
Initial opening times for the temporary library are:
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday: 9am to 5pm
Thursday and Friday: 9am to 7pm
Saturday: 9am to 1pm
Council leader Cllr Louise Gittins said: “Apologies for any inconvenience while the existing library building is being renovated, but the temporary location is very close by.
“Weaver Hall Museum is walkable from the existing library building in approximately 15 minutes, either through the town or along the river through the park. It also offers free parking.
“A pop-up library service will also be available at Brio Northwich Memorial Court, so residents can return items to a town centre location and borrow from a small collection.
“This location will be regularly serviced by library staff.”
She added: “Don’t forget to look out for library events at Weaver Hall, Memorial Court and across the town centre.”
Barnton, Sandiway and Weaverham libraries have been running temporary extended hours, but this will end on Saturday 28th January and these libraries will return to their normal opening hours.
