Locals are being invited to join the mayor of Erewash at St Mary’s Church in Ilkeston for this year’s Christmas Eve Carol Service.
Taking place at 7pm on 24th December, the church will bring people together to sing hymns accompanied by the Salvation Army Band.
“I look forward to joining the congregation in celebrating Christmas,” said Erewash mayor Harry Atkinson.
“All are welcome to attend, and I’d love to see you there to celebrate together as a community.
“That togetherness is really the spirit of Christmas, so don’t hesitate to come along and enjoy some songs!”
The parish church of St Mary’s has stood in the centre of Ilkeston’s marketplace since the mid 12th century.
