A new event is being organised to bring light to the dark days of January in Macclesfield.
‘Northern Light’ is replacing the town’s annual lantern parade this year – and organisers say it promises a feel good afternoon and evening in the town centre, alongside a few familiar faces.
There will be a giant illuminated helter skelter in Market Place, as well as fire pits for toasting marshmallows.
Performer Chris Hickey will entertain the crowds with close up magic before hopping on his unicycle for some LED juggling, while Chris Marley will be putting on a fire show hourly from 4pm.
Lobster a la Carte – a fan favourite at the lantern parades – will also be making an appearance.
The event takes place in Market Place, Macclesfield on Saturday 18th January from 2pm until 6.30pm.
