A new award event focusing solely on Chester and its unsung hospitality heroes is due to take place later this year.
Chester Hospitality Association has announced the launch of their People Awards, recognising the amazing work of hospitality staff in Chester.
From chefs to front of house, sales and revenue to housekeeping – every aspect of hospitality excellence will be given the spotlight at the ceremony on 6th July 2023 at Chester Racecourse.
The event will highlight the people who support and operate the hospitality venues in Chester and raise money for the industry’s charity Hospitality Action.
A Liverpool version of the event took place recently and initial estimates suggest more than £25,000 was raised for the charity.
Steven Hesketh, chair of Chester Hospitality Association, said: “We are thrilled to be bringing these awards to Chester.
“Having seen their success in Liverpool we have been inspired and cannot wait to recognise and reward the incredible talent in this city.
“Hospitality is a difficult trade full of passionate and wonderful people, so much of what they do is behind the scenes, and this is a great way to take note of their hard work and thank them for it.”
Nominations for the awards are now open, and will close on 28th April.
The awards have been chosen to specifically highlight individuals – the unsung heroes of hospitality – rather than venues.
Entries are encouraged from all types of businesses, independents, or chains.
The award categories are:
