Two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man in Northwich.
Cheshire Police said they were called just after 3.30pm on Saturday to reports of a disturbance at an address on Brook Lane, Rudheath.
Officers attended the scene, and a man was found at the property with serious injuries.
Paramedics also attended, along with North West Air Ambulance, but sadly, despite the best efforts of all those involved, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man was believed to be in his late 30s, police said. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
An investigation into the incident has been launched and a police cordon is currently in place on Brook Lane.
Two people, a 41-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man, were arrested at the address on suspicion of murder.
“I understand the concern that this incident is likely to cause, and I want to reassure residents that this is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no risk to the wider community,” said detective inspector Eleanor Atkinson, who is leading the investigation.
She added: “Patrols have been stepped up in the local area to provide reassurance, and a cordon is currently in place at the scene.”
Police said they were keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and who may have witnessed anything suspicious.
They also asked people to contact them with CCTV or dashcam footage which may help in their investigation.
