MP calculates more than £1m returned to constituents

A Cheshire MP says she has returned more than £1m to local residents, in the two years since being elected as their representative.

Chester North and Neston MP Samantha Dixon said the figure was calculated after feedback from residents who had been given money owed to them for a wide variety of reasons.

These included entitled benefit support, organisations returning money owned, compensation payments and more.

The actual figures may be even higher, Ms Dixon said.

“I am pleased my hard working team of caseworkers and I have been able to make sure that the money owed to people in the constituency is being given to them,” she committed.

“It is wrong that so many people aren’t receiving money to which they’re entitled. As a local MP, I work hard in the service of local people.”

Ms Dixon was elected in December 2022 for the former constituency known as the City of Chester.

She now represents Chester North and Neston which includes the city as well as the communities of Blacon, Upton, Hoole, Boughton, Saughall and Mollington plus Neston, Parkgate and Willaston.

Residents can contact Ms Dixon by emailing samantha.dixon.mp@parliament.uk, by calling 01244 343 229 or writing to Samantha Dixon MP, Houses of Parliament, London SW1A 0AA.
