Northwich BID has been working with Northwich Town Council to bring the local community a Christmas light switch-on video in place of a physical switch-on event this year.
The festive video features messages from Michael Thomas, chair of Northwich BID and Sam Naylor, Cheshire West and Chester and Northwich Town councillor.
Local businesses from Northwich feature in the video, each presenting a different number of the countdown from ten to one.
This year, there is an abundance of festive decoration throughout the town centre including festive lights, four Christmas trees and a light display at Town Bridge.
The specially-produced video shows the lights being switched on across Northwich, with BID project manager Adam Gerrard wanting to make sure the town kept its festive spirit and traditions, even with the absence of the usual Northwich Extravaganza.
“The aim of our Christmas light switch-on video was to inject some festive spirit into the community whilst showing off all the wonderful lights and decorations that have been installed across the town,” he explained.
“It’s a shame that the Christmas Extravaganza can’t go ahead this year but we still wanted to mark the occasion with something festive albeit virtual this year!
“On behalf of the Northwich BID, I just want to say a huge thank you to all of the businesses that got involved with the countdown and sent us creative, festive videos to be included in the final cut.”
