Northwich’s very own soapbox derby is set to return this summer.
More than 15,000 people attended the Northwich Krazy Races in 2022, with 20 teams entering to make the event a huge success.
Organisers at Sarah Belcher Events have confirmed they’ll be returning for 2023, and the event will once again be free to attend for spectators.
This year’s event will take place on Sunday 16th July, and will take the same route as last year’s event on Castle Hill.
There will be an event village and viewing within Verdin Park again, and teams wishing to take part can enter now.
After the success of this year’s event, organisers are urging teams to get their entries in as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
They are looking for a mix of between 20-40 teams, and these can be businesses, charities or even friends and families.
Sarah Belcher, founder of Krazy Races said: “We are over the moon to be coming back to Northwich this year!
“We absolutely loved last year’s event we are still buzzing about the overwhelming positive feedback.
“We hope that teams and businesses really get behind this event now they know what it’s all about and join in the fun.”
She added: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank Chris Shaw and the team at Northwich Town Council for continuing to back this event, giving thousands of locals a great free day to remember”
Northwich mayor Cllr Graham Emmett commented: “We always had full confidence in this event after seeing the incredible reviews – but last year’s event surpassed our high expectations and the crowds were phenomenal.
“Bringing Sarah Belcher Events and the Krazy Races team back is a no-brainer for us and we hope businesses come forward to help us make the event an even bigger success than last year.”
