At this year’s 14th Annual North West Wedding Awards on 12th June 2024, Henry D Johnstone Jewellers won both the “Best Jeweller” and “Business of the Year” awards.
Organised by County Brides, the awards recognise suppliers, venues and creatives for their excellence in the wedding industry.
The event was held at The Mercure, Manchester Piccadilly and raised over £4,000 on the night for the children’s charity Destination Florida.
These awards are testament to the team’s dedication to excellence across all business facets, reinforcing their reputation for innovative bespoke designs and a personalised customer experience, creating wedding rings that mirror the unique love stories of their clients.

Henry D Johnstone – our story
Our history started in 1900 when a nine fingered Italian watchmaker, Alberto Unwin, was travelling from Manchester to Derby with his stock of barometers intent on settling a new business.
When he happened upon Alderley Edge he was struck by the charm and people of the village and decided there and then that this would make a perfect location for his shop. In September 1900 Unwins Watch, Clock and Barometers opened for business in London Road.
He soon became an integral part of the village winding and servicing the clocks at the local bank, the Victoria Hotel and the houses on both Macclesfield and Congleton Road and in time his business prospered and was joined by his son Edwin.
Henry took over the business in 2003 with an idea to not only refresh and re-invigorate the business but to build on its already prestigious reputation, going from strength to strength ever since, opening our second showroom in Poynton in 2012.
