The circus’ visit to Arclid is an extra special one…
In the 1920s Bob Gandey, the founder of our circus, broke down on the A50 in Brereton.
He was on his way back from a theatre tour and, with a family on board, needed to find a place to stay.
Just nearby where he broke down was a cottage for rent – and that soon became the home of the Gandey family.
A spokesperson explained: “Since then we have always stayed based in Brereton, along with some of our artists, family and friends.”
They added: “For the first time ever we have decided, prior to our trip to the Channel Islands, to bring our circus back to our ‘ancestral home’, to the site next to the traffic lights at Arclid, for three days only.”
Performing high in the roof of the big top, The Gerlings walk, dance, and ride a bike on a single silver thread.
A rubbery contortionist will bend and buckle his body before you. You will not believe what you are seeing.
The courageous Cubans launch and land from the superb springboard.
Jacqui and Brandon delight with a delicate yet daring aerial ballet on the silks, and Gina displays mystical artistry and poise on the low wire.
Acrobats balance, tumble and bounce on a Russian bar… there’s electrifying excitement from the African Warriors… and as Europe’s favourite clown Chico Rico returns, you will struggle to stop laughing!
Top it all off with adrenaline-fuelled antics in the space wheel, and motorbikes in the ‘globe of death’. Prepare to be breathless!
With production numbers inspired by the West End, Gandeys features over 200 vibrant costumes in their purpose-built Italian big top theatre.
