East Cheshire Eye Society has received a donation from The Old Castle Masonic Lodge.
A spokesperson for the charity said they were very pleased to receive the generous donation of £870 which was raised at a raffle at the Freemasons’ St George’s Day celebration evening in April.
They said: “This donation will really help to keep our services going through 2022, and will really make a difference to the people living with sight loss that we support.
“Freemasons Tony Costello, Mike Eardley and Bob Handley from the Lodge came to our office on Market Place (Macclesfield), and showed a great interest in the explanation of our services and equipment given to them by our manager Alan Chappell, and services and volunteers coordinator Helen van der Veken.
“Our trustees Bridget Self, Colin Turner and Liz Durham met with Tony, Mike and Bob to thank them, and to formally receive their donation.”
