We’ll publish these daily for all 52 council wards (in alphabetical order) in the build up to the local elections on 4th May 2023.

You can view all of the Cheshire East Council candidate submissions together by clicking here.

Listed below are all of the candidates seeking your vote in the Nantwich North and West ward.

Voters in Nantwich North and West can select three candidates to represent them on Cheshire East Council.

Nantwich North and West candidates:

  • Stuart Bostock (independent)
  • Anna Burton (Labour)
  • Kim Heyes (Green Party)
  • Vicky Higham (Conservatives)
  • Tom Levins (Green Party)
  • Arthur Moran (independent)
  • John Statham (Conservatives)

Stuart Bostock (independent)

I’m a Nantwich man born and bred having lived in the North and West Ward all of my life.

I was so very proud when first elected as an independent Nantwich town councillor in 2015 and then re-elected in 2019.

During the eight years of service I honestly feel that I have been fully committed to working hard for the people of Nantwich.

I was also so very proud and privileged to have served you as town mayor for the 2021- 2022 municipal year.

I also represent the town council on various community groups such as Nantwich in Bloom, Nantwich Food Festival and the museum trust. I’m also a member of the Nantwich Civic Trust.

These are all groups working as volunteers making our town vibrant, helping our traders, to enhance tourism and attract more visitors to the town.

Don’t ever underestimate the power of your independent vote!

Anna Burton (Labour)

I work as a film producer developing campaigns for progressive organisations, charities, and non-profits.

I have lived in Nantwich for the last 10 years. Prior to that, after graduating, I lived in London for 15 years.

I worked as a researcher for MSF and for the TUC on public policy projects.

Amongst other things, I want to improve the bus services to Leighton Hospital, enhance recreational facilities for young people and ensure our highways are well maintained, while keeping a focus on the climate agenda.

Kim Heyes (Green Party)

I have lived in and around Nantwich on and off since I was around 10 years old, and my family history can be traced back in the town to the 1600s!

I have six children who are mostly grown up, with my youngest about to go to Malbank in September.

I work at Manchester Metropolitan University as a senior lecturer of health and social justice in the nursing department.

I am also a trustee (volunteer) for the wonderful charity PSS, based in Liverpool.

I believe that Cheshire East Council does not value its citizens and needs a change.

Vote Green for community and social action!

Vicky Higham (Conservatives)

I’ve lived in Nantwich since 1988, but connections go back to 1978.

I’ve worked in project management for over 30 years delivering programmes of work in financial services, special education needs, highways, waste/recycling, green travel, the civil service and Dyson.

I’ve been involved in road safety for over 20 years, including reduction of local speed limits.

I have been pressing for updates on progress of the new road linking Waterlode to the A51 – enabling residents to access the A51 more quickly, potentially reducing rat runs through local residential streets.

A keen gardener, I’m a committee member for Nantwich in Bloom making sure we embrace sustainable ideas.

I am part of the Nantwich Food Festival volunteer team, providing help and information to visitors.

Building on my experiences with Oxford City Council’s sustainable initiatives I’m a board member of NCME which will harness our natural resources of hydro and solar.

Arthur Moran (independent)

I have lived in Nantwich for over 50 years and have represented the Nantwich North and West Ward on Cheshire East Council since 2009 and was mayor in 2017/2018.

I was formerly a Cheshire county councillor from 1997 and a district councillor for the Barony Weaver Ward from 1996.

At present, I am vice chair of the adults and health committee, and I represent Cheshire East on the health and integrated care board.

I am involved in the Nantwich community, I have been a town councillor since 1986. I am a Beam Heath Trustee, chair of Nantwich Luncheon Club and a director of Nantwich Show.

I am a Cheshire East appointee on The Nantwich Partnership, a trustee on The Nantwich and Acton Grammar School Foundation Trust and governor of Millfields Primary School and Nursery.

In my spare time I am keen cyclist and supporter of Nantwich Football Club.
