Listed below are all of the candidates seeking your vote in the Crewe St Barnabas ward.
Voters in Crewe St Barnabas can select one candidate to represent them on Cheshire East Council.
Crewe St Barnabas candidates:
- Sally Handley (Labour)
- Geoff Palin (Putting Crewe First)
- James Pratt (Conservatives)

Sally Handley (Labour)
I was proud to be elected to represent Crewe St Barnabas in 2019.
I am a hardworking mother and campaigner. I am committed to social justice and cannot stand by while so many in the community suffer after years of Conservative austerity.
It was an honour to successfully campaign with local residents in the wake of the Beechmere fire for improved fire safety measures in planning. I will continue to lobby for this if re-elected.
I have consistently championed Crewe Youth Zone which will transform the lives of our young people. I will fight to ensure that this goes ahead.
Our roads and footpaths are still not good enough; I will go on reporting issues and lobbying for additional avenues of funding to improve our area.
I am honoured to be standing for election again and if successful I pledge to continue to fight for the residents of Crewe St Barnabas.

Geoff Palin (Putting Crewe First)
I am 61 years old and I am Crewe born and bred.
I have a wealth of experience that would help me carry out my work as a councillor (if elected).
I spent 12 years in the military which has given me a good strong principled character.
I have worked in civil engineering both for public companies and the local council, so I know the standards work should be carried out at.
I have also worked with in the care industry.
I believe in people being given fair treatment and getting value for their taxes. I hate waste and inefficiency at all levels and would do my hardest to stop it.
I believe Crewe is being neglected badly by Cheshire East Council and Crewe Town Council.
I will fight hard to stop this and get our town the service it deserves. I hope to make this town better and get it back to the way it should be.

James Pratt (Conservatives)
I’ve lived in Crewe St Barnabas for several years.
Many local residents will have seen me out and about in our area working to make our part of Crewe a better place to live.
Many people think I am already their councillor which is nice!
I work in the IT and media industry, previously having worked in the avionics sector for many years.
I’m standing for election as I want to serve our local community to ensure it is better represented than in recent years – particularly with a focus on issues we have here with roads, litter, fly tipping and anti-social behaviour which are the top priorities that residents have raised to me.
I believe the interests of the ward will be best served by a candidate like myself, being a local resident – not only by seeing day to day problems in the area but also being someone who can also bring fresh ideas to the council.
So Cheshire remains proudly non-partisan and has provided the same opportunity to all parties and independent candidates.
