Shares

We’ve asked all of the candidates standing for election to Cheshire East Council to provide our readers with a short introduction to themselves.

We’ll publish these daily for all 52 council wards (in alphabetical order) in the build up to the local elections on 4th May 2023.

You can view all of the Cheshire East Council candidate submissions together by clicking here.

Listed below are all of the candidates seeking your vote in the Bunbury ward.

Voters in Bunbury can select one candidate to represent them on Cheshire East Council.

Bunbury candidates:

  • Jonathan Bill (Liberal Democrats)
  • Rebecca Posnett (Conservatives)

Jonathan Bill (Liberal Democrats)

I’m a family man who has lived in the ward for several years and many local residents may have seen me out running with my dog.

I work in the IT part of the financial services industry which gives me insight into both technology and finances.

I’m standing for election as I want to be a champion for the ward’s interests within the council – particularly in regard to roads, flooding and farming/environment/green issues.

I believe the interests of the ward will be best served by me bringing a fresh perspective to the council as a Lib Dem.

Rebecca Posnett (Conservatives)

I have lived in the Bunbury area for 20 years with my husband and our now two teenage children.

Bunbury is a predominantly rural ward with beautiful countryside and villages.

I am standing for election this May to ensure Bunbury ward gets a fair share of council resources, opportunities, and much needed investment.

I will be accessible to residents and businesses, working together to resolve issues and concerns.

I will support the many active local groups and parish councils who already work to champion the ward as a great place to live, work, and raise children.

Protecting the wards character and integrity for future generations is important to me, along with making sure residents get the services they pay for.
