Organisers of the Knutsford Beer Festival have announced a new venue for this year’s event.
The beer festival will now be held at Egerton Place, rather than 60 King Street as previously planned.
The change of venue has been prompted by an increased demand for tickets.
Chair of the Knutsford Beer Festival committee, Andrew Malloy said: “Tickets have been selling faster than ever before so we’ve taken the decision to move the beer festival to Egerton Place again so that we can accommodate more people.
“We loved the idea of having the beer festival at 60 King Street, and we’re very grateful to Knutsford Town Council for the offer of using the building, but in reality we need a bigger space.”
He added: “We’re thrilled to be back at Egerton Place because it was such a perfect venue for us last year.
“The only reason we hadn’t planned to hold it there again was that the building work was due to start around now.
“Happily for us, there has been a small delay on that which means we can sneak in a quick beer festival before they get started on the refurbishment.”
The festival’s main bar will offer a choice of 45 craft beers and real ales hand-picked from breweries across the North West.
As with previous years, the festival will also offer a selection of craft cider and lager alongside a dedicated wine and gin bar.
Last year, just over 1,000 guests visited the Knutsford Beer Festival over its three days and the event raised £10,000 for charity.
This year, organisers are hoping to raise even more for the two chosen charities, Hope Central and the Toy Appeal.
Sponsorship lead, Kevin Jardine said: “Knutsford Beer Festival is such a brilliant charity event.
“As a fundraiser it’s win-win really: the sponsors get to give something back to the local community and have some fun at the same time.
“All our sponsors are invited to a special preview event at the festival so they can really see what it’s all about – and, of course, sample a couple of beers!
“We’ve been incredibly fortunate to get so many sponsors on board this year.
“I think it’s going to be one of the best beer festivals we’ve ever held, and hopefully we can raise a really decent amount for our local charities.”
Knutsford Beer Festival is the longest-running charity beer festival in Knutsford.
Since its inception in 2013, the volunteer-run event has raised more than £37,000 for local charities.
Tickets cost £10 – which provides entry to one of the sessions, a souvenir glass and one free drink.
Sessions are held each evening plus there is an additional afternoon session on the Saturday.
Sessions will take place on Thursday 20th April (7.30-11pm), Friday 21st April (6-11pm) and Saturday 22nd April (12-4pm and 6-11pm).
A mix of live music and DJ sets are planned for all evening sessions and the Saturday afternoon session will see the return of tasting masterclasses – all included in the ticket price.
