Jonny Wilkes is due to make his twenty-first panto appearance at Hanley’s Regent Theatre this year, as he takes to the stage as Buttons in Cinderella.
It will be his fifth outing in the role for Wilkes, who has enjoyed a varied career – including roles in Chicago, The Rocky Horror Show, Guys and Dolls, and Grease as well as hosting duties on tv shows You’ve Been Framed and Love on a Saturday Night.
“I’m so excited to be back at the Regent Theatre for another amazing panto season,” Wilkes said.
“Cinderella is such a fantastic show, and I can’t wait to bring the magic, laughter, and festive fun to Stoke-on-Trent once again.
“It’s always an honour to perform for the best audiences in the world!”
The show is being produced by Crossroads Pantomimes, and will feature all the traditional pantomime ingredients Stoke-on-Trent audiences know to expect.
Cheryl Taylor, theatre director at the Regent Theatre, said: “Jonny has been a beloved part of our pantomime tradition in Stoke-on-Trent for many years.
“His enthusiasm, comedic timing, and passion for entertaining audiences make every show unforgettable.
“We’re thrilled to have him back for Cinderella!”
