For a lot of us, say the word ‘apple’ and it conjures up images of iPhones and iPads and the like.
Well, Tatton Park is going to make sure you know EXACTLY what an apple is this weekend…!
You’ll be able to taste and learn all about apples (no, not the tech variety!) and pears at the annual Apple Day, taking place on Sunday 7th October.
Bob in to Tatton Park’s gardens and you’ll discover varieties you won’t find in the supermarket – and they’ll have come directly from Tatton Park’s very own orchard.
Families can meet local author Nicola Hulme for readings of her children’s book ‘Portia the Pear’ (10.30am – 4.30pm) and listen to fascinating talks by Tatton’s expert gardeners (at 1pm and 3pm).
Enjoy delicious apple-inspired dishes in the Stables Restaurant and Gardener’s Cottage tea room, using apples from the orchard and produce from the Tatton estate.
The Housekeepers Store will be holding tastings of locally-sourced apple juice, chutneys, cheeses and more, and you’ll be able to buy hand-picked apples, fresh from the orchard, from the Garden Shop.
