Art is subjective however professional personal branding photographer Senem Peace has a unique eye for what makes a good picture.
When many businesses were suffering during lockdown Senem took the opportunity to add another element to her established photography business.
Senem completed the ultimate pivot by launching her fine art business. Starting off by painting in her kitchen Senem believes “you can create art anywhere”.
Senem describes her artwork as “abstracts from another world” which are often influenced by mythical and ancient features. Senem’s signature style comprises of bold colours and layered textures, oozing with dynamism and movement.
Originally from Istanbul, Turkey, Senem has been living in the UK since 2016. She is settled in the Cheshire suburb of Wilmslow with her husband and son.
Senem’s career spans over 20 years starting out as a photographer in 2001 and continued as a magazine editor before moving to the UK. Senem studied a bachelor’s degree in Prehistoric Archaeology and a master’s degree in War History.
Of her artwork, Senem says: “When I am painting, I am in search of the hidden, the unseen, to take shape. I am not interested in capturing a physical likeness, but an emotional realisation.”
“My interest in history and art definitely feeds my inspiration and I often find myself drawn into almost enchanted tales from an unknown time.”
