Party Gras a vibrant success for St Luke’s Hospice

Over 400 local supporters gathered on Friday (27th July) at Party Gras to celebrate the 30th birthday of St Luke’s Hospice.

Since January, St Luke’s has been celebrating its 30th anniversary and the Party Gras charity ball at Dorfold Park offered the ultimate celebration, with major local businesses supporting the event.

Guests embraced the carnival theme with beautiful and elaborate outfits embellished with feather, sequins and even masks.

After enjoying cocktails and food, the 400-plus revellers headed straight to the dancefloor to join the Brazilian dancers and drummers from the UK’s top Latin showband Tropicalia!

The charity’s mission to bring the sounds and sights of carnival to Cheshire was brought to life with beautiful palms in the reception area, piñatas by the gin bar, plus the show-stopping Toni James Band.

Vice president of St Luke’s and chairman of the Party Gras committee, Roger Mills MBE, said: “Party Gras brought the colour, flavour, sounds and excitement of the Brazilian carnival to Cheshire – and raised lots of money at the same time.”

St Luke’s chairman of trustees, Mike Ridley, was delighted with the amount raised on the night.

He said: “I might be biased, but Party Gras was one of the best events I have been to, and to top it all off I understand that our generous guests and sponsors have helped to raise more that £50,000!

“As chair of St Luke’s it is my pleasure to sincerely thank everyone who has supported the event and raised such a significant amount of money for the charity, thank you.”
