Knutsford Market Hall held its first quiz night on Thursday (12th July) raising £476.18 for The Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
Around 15 teams (a mixture of residents and local businesses) took part in the quiz with 100% of the money raised going direct to the charity.
A number of local businesses supported the event with raffle donations and there were also ‘yellow angel’ keyrings/bag charms available to buy on the night.
The quiz mirrored Peter Murray of Pulse of Perfumery’s efforts to turn Knutsford yellow last year which attracted the attention of regional and national media.
In honour of this, the theme of yellow was visible throughtou – the quiz sheets were yellow, with one round having a specifically yellow theme, and participants were encouraged to wear yellow. There were even yellow balloons adorning the hall.
Jonty Page, local quiz master, oversaw proceedings with The Market Café and Morgan Edwards Fine Wines providing tapas food and drinks respectively.
Sandra Curties, Knutsford town centre manager said: “This was our first charity quiz night and we were overwhelmed with the support we received from both the public and local businesses.
“The evening had a real community feel and, yes, we might do it again!”
