Loaf opens in Wilmslow

Shares

From high-end luxury cars to high-end luxury interiors, the former Jaguar showroom on Macclesfield Road in Wilmslow has completed its transformed into a Mecca for ‘loafing’!

Loafing, by the way, is defined as “the art of surrendering to idleness” and who are we to disagree? (Especially when there’s ice cream to be tasted – more on that later!)

Wilmslow is now home to Loaf’s fifth shack, its first northern outpost, where a ribbon-cutting ceremony took place at 11am on Thursday 24th May to mark its opening.

The ribbon was cut by newly-appointed mayor of Cheshire East, Cllr Lesley Smetham, who officially welcomed local ‘loafers’ into the new store.

The Loaf showroom (sorry, they’re ‘slowrooms’ not showrooms) will showcase the British brand’s beautiful range of handmade beds, sofas, furniture and accessories.

Its stylish furniture is right at home within the impressive 7,500 sq ft building, offering a destination space paying homage to life in the slow lane – a bit of change from the growls of Jaguar sports cars which once held court there.

With its fabulous mattress-testing station, oodles of comfy sofas and arcade games for little ones (and big kids) to enjoy, it’s a haven for kicking back and relaxing.

There’s even an old-school style ice cream parlour where visitors can enjoy a scoop or two of their favourite flavours.

Loaf’s founder Charlie Marshall said: “It’s high time people in the North of England had a bit of Loaf on their doorstep so they can kick their shoes off in style.

“Our new Wilmslow Shack is packed full of our squishy wares for a happy life in the slow lane!”

With plenty of on-site parking and situated just a short stroll from Wilmslow train station, Loaf bringing its laid-back world to the north.
