Young patients at Macclesfield Hospital will receive some festive cheer this year thanks to the Macclesfield FC Community Sports Trust.
The organisation has launched its annual festive fundraiser, which aims to bring a little bit of joy to youngsters in the children’s ward who will spend Christmas in hospital.
Money raised will be used to buy gifts for the children to help share the magic of Christmas during their stay – with players from the club helping to deliver the presents.
“This is our fourth year supporting the children’s ward, with last year raising over £400 for us to spend of gifts for those children unfortunately in hospital over Christmas,” said Lee Folkard, head of Macclesfield FC Community Sports Trust.
“We would love to hit the £500 mark this year, which would be an amazing achievement and a testament to not only the club’s fans, but our amazing community.”
Lily Preston, fundraising and events manager at East Cheshire NHS Charity added: “We are incredibly grateful for the continued support from Macclesfield FC Community Sports Trust.
“Their fundraising efforts and annual visits bring so much joy to the children on the ward and we can’t thank them enough for their dedication and generosity.”
