Congleton has been selected to represent the North West region in the RHS Britain in Bloom UK Finals 2025.
The town has been entered into the “Best Overall Large Town” category, and follows the Congleton In Bloom group securing a gold award in the North West as well as clinching the title of overall best large town in the North West.
The town has now entered the national the spotlight and Congleton In Bloom chair Cllr David Brown said it was an “incredible honour”.
“This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved.” He said.
“From our volunteers to our community partners and streetscape team, this is a true team effort.
“Whether we’re planting, deadheading, or just weeding a flowerbed, we’re working together, outdoors, in the company of like-minded people, for the good of the whole town.
“It’s so rewarding to receive positive comments from local people and visitors alike.”
‘A role for everyone’
National judges will assess the town in August, and preparations for the visit are already under way.
The group is now calling on local residents to join their efforts to keep the town looking its best, promising there is a role for everyone.
“Please contact us if you’d like to get involved,” Cllr Brown said.
“Together, we can make Congleton shine even brighter on the national stage.”
Congleton’s many floral highlights include Astbury Mere, community gardens, Congleton Park, town centre hanging baskets and planters, children’s back-to-back gardens and numerous wildflower planting areas.
