Darnhall Show returns

Shares

The Darnhall Show is set to make its return this year, after a hiatus due to the pandemic.

The show is held in the beautiful Cheshire countryside, with views over open fields – and this year will be its sixth outing.

Profits from the event go towards the renovation and improvement of Darnhall Village Hall, which is well-supported by the local community and surrounding area.

A spokesperson said: “We aim to make the event a family fun day out.

“This year we have a children’s ride and fun fair stalls, zorb balls, craft and shopping stalls, farmers market, main ring entertainment – including gun dog demonstration, jujitsu demonstration, Darnhall Dancers and the Rose Queen.

“We have static displays of vintage tractors and cars and a vintage steam engine.

“For refreshments we have a barbecue by Grants butchers, a bar by The Old Star and tea and homemade cakes served by Darnhall Brownies.”

They added: “We will be running our competitions tent again. Everyone is welcome to join in with baking, craft, flowers, photography and much more.”

There are both children’s and adult classes – and the competitions are open to anyone.

Schedules will be posted on Facebook and Instagram – or alternatively you can contact Sue Langley (details below) to have one emailed or sent in the post.

On the day there will be displays of tractors and agricultural machinery.

North Cheshire Guild of Spinners, Weavers and Dyers will also be in attendance, and there will be family games in the main ring, as well as a children’s free play area.
