It’s only a matter of weeks now before Wilmslow can experience its very own taste of the Deep South, when the town gets a Hickory’s Smokehouse restaurant!
A spokesperson for Hickory’s said: “We are thrilled to announce that we will be getting a new Hickory’s in Wilmslow!”
“This has been a place on our wish list for a long time and we can’t wait to bring some Southern hospitality to the area!”
They added: “We will be opening our doors at the end of April and are looking forward to becoming a part of the local community and serving up some authentic southern style barbecue for the good people of Wilmslow!”
The brand – which started life after a road trip to the southern states – will be taking on the building previously occupied by the Boddington Arms pub (most recently operated by Harvester).
The Hickory’s website says: “On our travels we are always greeted like old friends and we just wanted to bottle the generosity of spirit and open hearted hospitality of the southern states.”
The So Cheshire team can’t wait for the new venue to throw open its doors.
The new Hickory’s will join fellow Cheshire sites in Chester (the brand’s first) as well as Poynton (opened in 2019) and Crewe (also opened in 2019).
Hickory’s has a total of 11 branches across the country, with the Wilmslow opening set to be its twelfth.
