Knutsford Town Council has launched a new initiative designed to make visiting the town centre more welcoming for parents and carers of babies and young children.
The council’s feeding charter involves businesses in the town providing a dedicated space for breastfeeding or bottle-feeding babies.
The scheme also extends this support to parents, grandparents or carers who needs a comfortable spot to sit and feed older children.
Town council bosses said the charter specifically acknowledges the challenges of Knutsford’s unique and narrow streets.
Delivered in collaboration in with local venues, the feeding charter creates a more inclusive environment, they said.
Places taking part will display a “baby feeding welcome” sticker in their windows, assuring visitors that a welcoming space is available without the obligation to make a purchase.

- Dagmara Studios, Minshull Street
- Cranford Cafe, Canute Place
- The Tea Room, Cotton Shop Yard
- Detaljer, Princess Street
- Booths, Stanley Road
- KnutCraft, Drury Lane
- Knutsford Market Hall, Silk Mill Street
- Neki Cafe, King Street
- Satya Sanctuary, King Street
- MAK Clinic, Regent Street
“We are proud to support our community with this initiative,” said town centre manager Sandra Curties.
“Knutsford is a town with a big heart, and by introducing the feeding charter, we are taking a step towards ensuring that our shops are accessible to all, reinforcing our commitment to inclusivity.”
